Taxi take me home
Radio Continental Drift
Feat. Thandanani Women’s Ensemble

Recorded in Matshobana, a township of Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, in october 2013, Taxi take me home is a short excerpt from a longer recording made by Claudia Wegener (Radio Continental Drift) during a day she spent with Thandanani Women's Ensemble. Taxi take me home is a farewell song, a greeting that the women sang and shared to wish everyone a happy return home.

There is no place like home...Take me home... It's my time to go home... Taxi take me home is about a journey, it's about home. It is a song of desire that addresses the travellers, the commuters, that speaks to anyone who is about to return home and to anyone who cannot do so. The choir of voices sing a kind of nostalgia that fades into shared hope. With this song, we wish everyone a happy return.
