Otobong Nkanga

Referencing the (often violent) movement and exchange of minerals, energy, goods, and people, Otobong Nkanga’s work is a reminder that objects and actions do not exist in isolation: there is always a connection, always an impact. 

The work of Nigerian artist Otobong Nkanga is included in the main exhibition “May You Live in Interesting Times” at the 58th Venice Biennale 2019, for which she has been awarded special mention.
